Wait a sec..what shit??

But wait a sec..how irresponsible can 1 be..i realized today..in a quest to get my PAN card ready i did not want to go through any illicit ways....to the IT office,the ulterior motive being not contributing to the already polluted bureaucracy..

Then sumthng i did of which i myself could not stop thinking in the aftermath..

The payment for getting the PAN ready was the be done through Demand Draft..

i went to the bank,as my course of action demanded,used my influence to bypass d long queue in the bank, used influence and  got the DD done in minutes by not even taking part in the process(acquiring a requisition form,applying ad waiting in the ever lengthening queue owing to the fact that the branch is one of the most sought after and crowded of all in this part of the city)..Now consider this.

I went to the passport office.It really is a place to visit if you haven't yet and have an idea that it is run under great authority and care..at least i did(took it to be a temple of an open India world operations)..it truly speaks volumes of the extent of penetration of bureaucracy and red-tapism in the govt. processes.

I took to the queue at around 7 in the morning and even standing at only three places behind the window,i could see through the window at 30 minutes pat 10 in the morning which should have happened at least an hour back.Never mind..having stood my position for over 3 and a half hours i was happy at just the site of the other side of the window..

I would not rant on to what happened to my application after that..but what happened after this was deja-vu.A pretty woman with a clerk of the passport office following her in close heels.rue

As i made it out later she was there to get her passport ready and she used her influences to jump the queue..

i could only rue..but was confused for what??for nt having any influences in here or having used an influence at the bank...

now all those faces at the bank were reeling back in me...

This incident has had a long borne effect on me..I realize something beyond what i could think ever before transcending my comfort levels...i would think and rethink only about 
Nehruvian policies that have been successful in being unsuccessful altogether..bureaucracy plagues us more than ever.Run around with your case in the same office around tables pleading to complacent govt. officials who are ever unapproachable.
:Influence can help you in helping others wipe off their already depleted faith in Govt. procedures.

Time for us to judge what i did on various grounds being moral,being pragmatic..being responsible and being time efficient..being thoughtful..
Perhaps being thoughtful(read it as buying time)breaks the dead lock of the above trade off absoluteness and relativity of your principles..that is to say how long would you stand by the Indian dogmas..
Anyways India has been considered a slow and steady elephant..so i am sure we all will take time...give a bit of  thought,a bit 21st century shit to it..and time will ensure that we all put this,very irrelevant,incidence behind us..leaving the bigger mandate,to us,of ensuring that India remains an Elephant and as slow synonymously....

May be some of us will go to the length of sparing some more time to ensure that India remains an elephant..and assuring that we infuse some wisdom in us and INDIA's peoples subsequently...
Only time would tell whether we break this dead lock or make adjustments accordingly..
